Join us as we share the hope with Kim Tye
Kim began her career in a pediatric cardiac intensive care unit as a bedside nurse caring for patients from birth to young adulthood requiring open heart surgery and transplant. She worked as a bedside nurse and charge nurse on the floor for just shy of a decade before making the decision to transition to the outpatient world. Having been so imbedded in the world of congenital heart disease she could not go far, and continue to work specifically with the single ventricle population as a nurse coordinator doing education with families prior to discharge, home monitoring during the interstage period, and following them throughout Norwood/Glenn/Fontan until transition to an adult congenital program. Education is a passion of hers – she was deeply involved with nursing education on her old floor, and taught for seven years for a university as well in their school of nursing.
