Brooke is a 28 year educator, who considers service to others as an important part of her life. She became involved with CHDs in 2021 when she learned about her grandson’s upcoming birth. At the 18-20 week scan we learned about a very serious congenital heart defect, later confirmed to be Tetralogy of the Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCAS. Her grandson, Kash was born at Johns Hopkins Hospital July 29th 2021. He battled through 4 open heart series, 2 strokes, a pseudoaneurysm and COUNTLESS procedures … passing away August 17th 2023, at the age of 2. The Courageous Kash Foundation, a 501C3 Foundation, was created months later serving heart warriors and families continuing to battle CHD daily, like our sweet Kash.
